What to do with Dolly?

So Eliana has been more than a little mischevious lately (to say the least). And it never fails when she gets caught she blames it on dolly. So Friday afternoon I was working on the taxes and Eliana went in her room to play. It had been pretty quiet for about ten minutes so I got up to check on her. She meets me halfway to her room and she says "Mommy, don't come in my room." I'm like why not, what are you up to? Already my mind is racing with possibilities. She couldn't have set anything on fire, the scissors are carefully put away, what's the worst she could have done? So I go in and at first don't see it but there in her bed are hundreds of tiny beads. I instantly recognize them as the little, I mean like really small, beads I use to make my makeup brushes stand up in their holders. She obviously got them from my bedroom, so I head there next. The little beads are all over everything. Nearly every inch of floor is covered in them. She had taken my makeup brushes out and spread them around the floor then sprinkled the beads everywhere. After that she took all the tissues out of the tissue box and covered the beads with the kleenex. I look at her and she instantly says, "Dolly did it." It took two time outs, four conversations about it with me, and two more conversations with Eric before she finally admitted her part in the bead conspiracy.

The Culprits

The Beads - look how little they are.

My poor neglected blog

I confess, I am a blog neglecter. I started my poor blog because I wanted to keep track of all the wonderful and hilarious things my beautiful children do. But needless to say I have not been a disciplined blogger. So my poor little blog has sit here abandoned for months and months.
I decided I either need to work on keeping up or I needed to put it out of its lonely misery. So I have chosen to give it another shot. I have about twenty post it notes of funny Eliana stories I thought I would work on transferring to the blog. At this point they will seem a little out of context but hey no one is perfect. Especially moi.

Pigtail Trouble

Just Get Lost

Eliana and I went to pick Skyler up from school today. On the way home I tell her that she has to take a nap when we get there. She says, "Oh no! We're lost, we can't go home now." I ask her if she thinks she is going to get out of a nap if we're lost. "Yes."
I do get lost easily but obviously not easily enough for her.

Pirates don't get time outs

I'm beginning to wonder who the parent is here. I went to give Eliana a time out and she informs me that she is a pirate and pirates don't get time outs. I told her that may be true for big pirates but little pirates can still have time outs. She tells me, "I'm a big pirate then."

I guess I lost this one.

OH MY

Eliana woke up yesterday and I hear her on the baby monitor say, "It's light outside, time to get up. That's so silly." She just cracks me up, everyday she cracks me up. I just wish she would stop growing up so fast.Skyler on the other hand, oh my heavens. I found out yesterday that he has been putting his gym clothes over top his street clothes so he doesn't have to change. I was dumbfounded. I don't know how he even manages to get a pair of sweatpants over a pair of jeans. And how does he move once he does? I told him he couldn't do that anymore and he asked me why. The worst part is I couldn't come up with an answer. Why can't you put your sweatpants over your jeans? Because it's crazy! Does that count as a viable answer?
